BREWER INITIATES CHARITY DRIVE
By Adnews Staff
The Upper Canada Brewing Company of Toronto is launching a charity drive to raise money for the homeless. The program, called Help the Homeless, came about as a response to government cutbacks to social assistance. From this week until Jan. 6, Upper Canada will donate 50 cents from every 12-pack of beer sold to help homeless people across Ontario. The campaign will also hit selected restaurants and bars, where patrons will be able to put a wreath on the wall of participating establishments for a $1.00 donation to the drive. Help the Homeless will be promoted through in-store posters and radio ads. The posters were created by freelancer Steve Harrison of Toronto, while the radio spots were handled by Russell Design of Toronto.
