Parks Canada conducts concert promotion

Parks Canada is preparing a promotion called "Quietest. Concert. Ever." The promotion is being conducted in association with CBCMusic.ca, Universal Music Canada, Sennheiser and the Province of New Brunswick. It will take the form of an outdoor concert by musician Serena Ryder on the ocean floor at Fundy National Park during low tide. The sound will be transmitted to each member of the audience through a set of Sennheiser wireless headphones. The concert will take place on Aug. 29. Tickets will be exclusively available through giveaways announced through the Parks Canada website and Twitter feed.

This will be the second time Parks Canada has undertaken this promotion, which is intended to attract younger visitors to the country's national parks. The first of these promotions took place in Banff National Park in 2013.

"Music is one of the greatest forces for connecting people to one another, and to a moment in time," said Geri Syroteuk, field unit superintendent at Fundy National Park. "The idea of combining music with technology and presenting it in one of Canada's most iconic national parks is very exciting and one of the many innovative ways of building connections between young Canadians and our national heritage."
