Deloitte launches international crisis management practice

Professional services firm Deloitte has launched a new division called the Deloitte Centre for Crisis Management. The international unit will specialize in managing the financial, operational and reputation repercussions of a crisis event. The division will offer services related to crisis situations such as natural or environmental disasters, financial crimes and online security breaches, among others. Its services will include the anticipation of threats, preparation, planning and crisis simulation. The service operate in all of Deloitte's operating regions, including Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

"When it comes to the likelihood of a crisis event disrupting your business, it's not a question of if, but when and are you prepared for it," said Peter Dent, crisis management leader at Deloitte Canada. "Here in Canada we're likely to continue to experience severe weather events like we did this past summer and winter, which can create significant crisis for cities and their infrastructure. Cities must be prepared. The cost of not looking ahead can be devastating."
