PUROLATOR LOOKING FOR AGENCY

Purolator Courier of Mississauga, Ont. has put the creative portion of its account up for grabs. The company has put a questionnaire on its Web site that will be there until Nov. 7. A mid-size list will be developed by Nov. 15 and a decision will be made before the end of the year. Purolator has been working with Bensimon*Byrne of Toronto on a project basis since last January. Before that, both the creative and media portions of the business were with Lowe/SMS of Toronto. At that time, Purolator decided to switch agencies and use Bensimon on an interim basis because it was changing its marketing strategy from highlighting price to focusing on customer service. It also decided to hire a separate media buying agency. Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell of Toronto has had the business since January. Purolator spent $2.6 million on advertising last year, according to ACNielsen estimates.
