Prince's Charities readies Canadian Wool Week

Prince's Charities Canada will conduct a promotion called "Canadian Wool Week" in Toronto from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4. The initiative is part of an international effort called "Campaign for Wool" conducted annually in 12 countries. This will be the first year a Canadian campaign has been undertaken. The promotion will take the form of a series of events intended to raise awareness of the benefits of wool and its various uses. Retailers Holt Renfrew, Joe Fresh and Pink Tartan have signed-on as sponsors of the campaign.

"The Prince of Wales kicked off the Campaign for Wool in Nova Scotia during May's Royal Tour and we are thrilled to follow-up with the launch of the first Canadian Wool Week in Toronto," said Matthew Rowe, manager of operations and partnerships for Prince's Charities Canada. "With His Royal Highness' support, the campaign has grown into a global success story which helps farmers by educating consumers from New York to Tokyo about the wonders of wool."
