CIBC TOUTS NEW PC BANKING SERVICES
By Adnews Staff
The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce will introduce its PC banking service nationally in mid-November and will launch a direct mail and free-standing insert campaign to support the service. The campaign will be created by Bratch Goehrum & Partners of Toronto. In addition, CIBC will run a contest for 12 months in which everyone who uses the service will automatically be entered in a monthly draw to win an IBM ThinkPad computer. The bank may also promote the service using messages on its telephone banking service and on its automated teller machines. Using the service, customers will be able to transfer funds between accounts, make bill payments, request stop payments on cheques or pre-authorized payments and change the accounts and bill payment list attached to bank cards. They will also be able to review account balances and the 15 most recent transactions since the last statement or passbook update. They will be able to get quotes and purchase CIBC travel medical insurance on-line. Early next year, they will be able to access CIBC's Investor's Edge discount brokerage service to obtain quotes, buy and sell stocks and make investment account inquiries.
