Roots hires Buyatab Online for online gift card program

Toronto-based clothing and accessories retailer Roots has retained Buyatab Online of Vancouver to develop an electronic gift card system and marketing program. Consumers can purchase the electronic cards from the Roots website and have them instantly delivered to recipients via email or text message The digital system will accompany the retailer's physical gift card program. The new electronic cards will be promoted with an international social media-based launch campaign tied to the holiday season.
"In the past, we've received many requests from customers for e-gift card purchasing options and so we know the demand for digital gift cards is there," said James Connell, vice-president of e-commerce and marketing at Roots. "Enabling e-gift card purchase and redemption on Roots.com is a natural extension of our successful traditional plastic gift card program. This new functionality provides another level of customer service to our valued online customers in 65-plus countries around the world in addition to better serving our in-store customers."
