CLARIS TO LAUNCH ENHANCED WEB SOFTWARE
By Adnews Staff
California-based Claris Corp. will introduce a new version of its Web authoring software to the North American market in December. Called Claris Home Page 2.0, the software features built-in site publishing, with auto-verification of links, support for popular multimedia plug-ins including QuickTime and Shockwave, spell checking and support for multiple fonts, client-side image maps for linking to other pages and sites and HTML editing enhancements. Users will be able to re-size and position frames, preview background GIF images and specify row heights and column widths within tables. In Canada, advertising plans will be announced later this week. It will likely be created by Woolward & Partners of San Francisco, with Claris in Canada localizing the ads in-house. Canadian PR is done by Atkins & Ellis of Toronto.
