Paymobile promotes Angry Birds prepaid card

Toronto-based financial services company Paymobile conducted a promotion in that city yesterday in support of its new Angry Birds Visa Prepaid Card. The card, which will launch next month, features characters from the Angry Birds video game by Rovio Entertainment of Finland. The initiative took place at Union Station where promotional workers in Angry Bird costumes paid for coffee for random commuters. This activity was part of a larger campaign for the card called "Pay It Forward." It also includes a social media content, during which consumers can submit personal stories and photographs for a chance to win a $1,000 prepaid card. Forty $100 secondary prizes will also be awarded. The contest will run until the end of the month. The promotion was developed in association with XTM of Toronto.

"We are very excited to bring this product to Canadians and provide a fun family tool that can help shape the spending habits of the next generation, connecting the Angry Birds brand to a centralized financial resource," said Marilyn Schaffer, president and CEO of XTM. "This is an excellent tool to assist Canadians to manage their budget, just in time for the holiday season."
