CTV releases updated news application

CTV has released a new version of its CTV News mobile application. The program, called CTV Mynews, can be used by registered viewers to submit photographs and videos of breaking news events. This content will then be used as a potential source of coverage for local and national news reports. The application also acts as a forum for users to discuss the news. The new applications allows larger file uploads and incorporates push alerts, a media map and geolocation, as well as a points system that rewards participants for completing assignments in their geographical area.

"Mynews extends our ability to deliver breaking news using emerging technologies, and increases the engagement we have with our viewers."
