Beam Canada begins Courvoisier contest promotion

Alcohol distributor Beam Canada has begun a national promotion for its Courvoisier brand of cognac. Called "Courvoisier: The Unforgettable Experience," the promotion takes the form of a contest for a $25,000 vacation package. Consumers can enter online at <http://www.courvoisierexperience.com> until the end of the year. The winner will be able to choose one of three trips: to a private resort on Fiji, to a château in France, or to a safari in Nairobi.

The contest will be supported with retail activities nationally. Participating liquor stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland will distribute special cards with the purchase of Courvoisier VS and Courvoisier VSOP products. The cards will give consumers five extra entries into the contest. Card recipients can also instantly win one of 1,000 $100 gift cards from online food retailer GourmetSecrets.ca.

"With autumn being a traditional cognac-drinking period, we couldn't think of a better time to celebrate our brand," said Vonetta Charles, brand manager at Beam Canada. "Be it a luxurious moment at home or a celebratory drink with friends, Courvoisier is intrinsically linked with unforgettable experiences. This contest brings the brand's core values to life and we want to honour this heritage with consumers."

The retail, contest and digital elements of the promotion were developed by The Think Tank of Toronto. Praxis of Toronto is conducting media relations and special events in Toronto, Calgary and Montreal. Sensu Communications of Toronto is providing Asian media support. Matchstick of Toronto is handling social media activities.
