New vice-chair at CRTC

The Ministry of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages has appointed Peter Menzies to the position of vice-chairperson for telecommunications of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for a five-year term. Menzies joined the CRTC as a part-time member in 2007. In 2009, he became a full-time member for the Alberta/Northwest Territories region. Menzies was previously president of Menzies Strategies. Raj Shoan has joined the CRTC as a full-time member for the Ontario region for a five-year term. He has previously held the position of director of regulatory affairs at CBC and Astral Media Radio. He has also acted as legal counsel to the CRTC.
