Subaru breaks Forester Family Rally campaign

Automaker Subaru Canada has begun a new advertising campaign promoting the launch of the 2014 Subaru Forester. The national campaign, called "Forester Family Rally," was developed by DDB Canada of Toronto. It begins with a 30-second television commercial called "Family Rally" depicting a family of four driving a mountainous rally stage in the vehicle. The ad directs viewers to a website at <http://www.familyrally.ca> for more information about the vehicle, as well as video of the other family teams that participated in the rally. Visitors to the site can also enter a contest to compete in Subaru's next rally in August in Tremblant, QC. The online materials were developed by Tribal DDB Toronto. The rally events are being managed by DDB Public Relations. The campaign also includes pre-roll, print, digital and radio advertising, as well as social media activities, direct mail, public relations and in-dealership materials. "With the new Forester launch, we wanted to pay tribute to Subaru's rich history and renowned reputation in rally racing," said Todd Mackie, creative director at DDB Canada. "By capturing the driving experience of real families on a rally track, we were able to depict the fun and adventurous spirit of the Forester while demonstrating its high performance and handling."
