Ontario Nurses' Association breaks radio campaign

The Toronto-based Ontario Nurses' Association has begun a new advertising campaign intended to raise awareness of the skills of the province's nurses and the care they provide. The provincial radio campaign uses creative in the style of a sports event pre-game broadcast that compares nurses to athletes. The campaign also encourages consumers to express their support for nurses via the organization's website. The 30-second commercial is called "The Super Shift." Transit shelter advertising will support the radio campaign next month. "Research shows the incredible value that nurses bring to the health care system," said association president Linda Haslam-Stroud. "Our new ad uses a sports analogy to remind us all that nurses are the heroes of health care, working each and every day to ensure that patients, clients and residents receive quality patient care and have positive health outcomes." The Ontario Nurses' Association is a union representing 59,000 registered nurses and health professionals.
