NABS TO HOST CANNES ADVERTISING AWARDS

The Western chapter of the National Advertising Benevolent Society will host the 1996 Cannes International Advertising Festival winners reel on October 9 in Vancouver. The event will present the winners of the world's most prestigious advertising festival, held in the famous French town renowned for its film festival. Sponsoring the event are The Globe and Mail, CKVU-TV and Sing Tao newspaper. Proceeds will go to NABS, which provides assistance to advertising, media and production professionals who encounter health, employment or financial problems. NABS also announced on this week that its fourth Canadian Airlines Draw will soon be launched. Only 4,000 tickets have been printed. The winner will receive a trip for two to anywhere in the Airlines' network, $2,000 in Royal Bank Visa Travellers Cheques and a set of Sambro luggage. The contest closes Nov. 15.
