NABS readies mid-career workshop in Toronto

The Toronto-based National Advertising Benevolent Society will conduct a workshop in that city in September intended to assist mid-career industry professionals. Called the NABS RIPE Workshop, the event will provide skills development activities to 10 ad industry professionals over the age of 45 who have lost their jobs or thinking of a career change. The workshop will feature career coach and author Julia Moulden. The event will take place on Sept. 13 and 16. Potential participants can apply to NABS for attendance until Aug. 26.

"Two trends are converging," said Louise Bérubé, director of allocations and services at NABS. "Dramatic changes in the advertising industry and an aging population. As a result, NABS is seeing an increasing demand from professionals in our industry for help at this pivotal stage of life. We wanted to offer a practical, effective response."
