Website roundup

Rogers Digital Media of Toronto has launched a new discount buying website called RDeals, located at <http://www.rdeals.ca>. The site offers items on sale nationally, excluding Quebec, as well as locally in the Greater Toronto Area. "Canadians are increasingly looking to engage with their favourite brands through multiple digital platforms and channels," said Jason Tafler, chief digital officer at Rogers Media. "With RDeals, we are offering savings on top quality brands and seamlessly connecting customers, wherever they are, to merchants across the country. Leveraging our robust portfolio and world-class brands, we are able to provide our advertisers and clients with access to established and relevant audiences."

The Université de Sherbrooke, Polytechnique Montréal and Concordia University have launched a jointly-operated website at <http://www.accesstoengineering.ca> that offers professional development services to engineers and technologists. The site is intended to offer easy access to a list of continuing education courses in various sectors related to engineering. The site will later begin to offer other services related to the professional activities of engineers. "Demand for professional development should continue to grow over time since engineers and technologists will have to be more versatile," said Pierre Lafleur, chief academic and international officer at Polytechnique Montréal. "They will also have to possess broader experience to better satisfy the growing requirements of projects at home and abroad. We considered broadening the training available by joining with institutions that are renowned in the realm of professional development. The Université de Sherbrooke and Concordia University were identified at a time when they were seeking to offer engineers better services. The partnership satisfied the mission of all of the participants."
