B.C. RESTAURANTS UNITE TO HELP SICK KIDS
By Adnews Staff
Five British Columbia restaurant chains have joined forces with Purdy's Chocolates of Vancouver in a promotion that will raise money for B.C.'s Children's Hospital. Beginning Aug. 30, diners at any one of Boston Pizza, Earls, Joey Tomato's Kitchen, The Keg Steakhouse or White Spot Restaurants will be able to buy a two-pack of Purdy's creamy hazelnut hedgehogs for two dollars. The net proceeds for each sale go directly to the Children's Hospital's Capital Campaign. The program involves more than 100 locations and 7000 servers. In the program's first year, organizers hope to generate $35,000 to the campaign. Advertising will consist of in-store signs and server baskets designed by Vancouver's Bryant, Fulton and Shee. Public relations work was performed by the Barkley Gazeley Group of Vancouver.
