Ovechkin signs endorsement deal with Bauer

Bauer Performance Sports and Bauer Hockey have signed an endorsement agreement with professional hockey player Alex Ovechkin. During the term of the agreement, Ovechkin will exclusively wear Bauer on-ice equipment. In addition, Bauer Hockey will donate 108 sets of equipment to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association and the Dynamo Hockey School in Moscow. Ovechkin will appear in Bauer Hockey's global advertising, including an upcoming campaign for the Bauer Vapor APX hockey stick. Ovechkin will also participate in the company's efforts to expand in Russia and eastern Europe. He will also work with Bauer's product development division. "Alex is obviously one of the greatest players to ever play the game and has an unparalleled passion, commitment and desire to win," said Kevin Davis, president and CEO of Bauer Performance Sports. "There are very few athletes in any sport that have his ability to influence players throughout the world and he will be an instrumental partner for us as we look to expand our business in key emerging markets."
