Teletoon debuts new branding

Toronto-based specialty television channel Teletoon has introduced new branding to coincide with the start of its fall programming season. The new branding, described by the company as "wilder," is intended to reflect the tagline, "Teletoon: It's Unreal" and the slogan, "Anything is possible." The changes include a new logo, along with new animations, effects and colours. The branding will be used on the channel's on-air and online properties. "Teletoon is a brand with unexpected characteristics," said Russell Ward, marketing vice-president at Teletoon. "It's funny, surprising, playful and, like kids, a little bit mischievous. With this refresh, we want to better unify and re-establish the brand as a whole. We've incorporated the brand essence and personality in the logo itself, giving it infinite possibilities to take on different shapes, textures, materials, characteristics and much more." Teletoon will promote the new branding with a series of street activities, the first of which is a branded ice cream truck traveling the Greater Toronto Area. Teletoon Canada is a joint venture of Astral and Corus Entertainment.
