Teletoon Retro begins Hall of Fame campaign

Specialty television channel Teletoon Retro has begun a national advertising campaign in English Canada intended to raise awareness and viewership of its classic cartoon programming. The campaign features a "Teletoon Retro Hall of Fame" and invites viewers to vote for the top five characters seen on the channel at the website <http://www.teletoonretro.com>. Voting will close on Dec. 6. Each of the top five characters will then be featured in a 24-hour programming block on Dec. 26. Voters will also be entered into a draw for a trip for four to see Bugs Bunny at the Symphony in one of several North American cities. The campaign includes through social media activities and television commercials, as well as radio, print and online advertising. The social media campaign was developed by Tribal DDB. Print ads are running in Today's Parent, The Magazine and Metro newspapers. In addition, promotional workers will distribute branded stickers at various family-oriented events, including the Toronto Santa Claus Parade, Illuminite and Kidzfest. "We have found that classic cartoons resonate with adults and children alike, making Teletoon Retro widely appealing to a co-view audience," said Karen Touma, marketing director at Teletoon Canada. "By introducing the Teletoon Retro Hall of Fame, we can directly connect with our viewers by letting them share their passion for cartoons and cartoon characters."
