International news: MDC Partners buys into Sloane & Company

MDC Partners has acquired a majority interest in public relations firm Sloane & Company, based in New York. The firm specializes in financial communications, public affairs and crisis communications for multinational organizations. Its client list includes Walgreens, New York Life, Medtronic, T. Boone Pickens, TiVo and Business Bermuda. "We believe that most of the innovative initiatives happening in marketing communications today are happening within the public relations arena," said Miles Nadal, chairman and CEO of MDC Partners.
