Callaway Golf conducts Odyssey White Ice Challenge

Callaway Golf of Concord, ON is conducting an online contest promotion in association with the Canadian Curling Association. The contest, called the "Odyssey White Ice Challenge," required participants to answer a series of online questions about curling and golf in order to enter. One randomly-selected entrant will receive a trip for two to the Tim Hortons Brier men's curling championship in Halifax on March 13. At the brier, the contestant will attempt to make a 93-foot putt on a sheet of ice. If successful, the contestant will win $100,000. Tournament attendees can also enter the contest on-site by making three preliminary putts in a special lounge area. One randomly-chosen qualifier will also attempt the 93-foot putt for $100,000. "Golf and curling share many similarities," said Preben Ganzhorn, marketing director at Callaway Golf. "Both are built on accuracy, tradition and camaraderie. There is a great synergy between a putt in golf and a draw shot in curling. As well, many golfers are exceptional curlers, and vice versa. As golf and curling share similar target demographics, we thought tying the two sports together through the Odyssey White Ice Challenge would be a great way to strengthen the bond that already exists between the two sports." The campaign creative was developed in-house by Callaway Golf. Public relations are being conducted by Pilot PMR of Toronto.
