TWO OTC COMPANIES MERGE

Carter Wallace Inc. of New York has merged its two Canadian over-the-counter medication subsidiaries Carter Products of Toronto and Frank W. Horner Inc. of Montreal. The duo is now known as Carter Horner Products and is headquartered in Toronto. Carter markets products such as Rub A535, Trojan condoms, Answer Now pregnancy test, Nair hair removal products, Arrid deodorant and Carter's Little Pills laxative. Horner markets products such as Gravol motion sickness medication, Pearl Drops tooth paste and tooth polish, Diovol, Ovol anti-gas medication and Atasol analgesic. As a result of the merger Carter Horner has consolidated its advertising business with two Toronto agencies: Bates Canada and the Leo Burnett Company. Bates is handling advertising for Diovol, Gravol and Ovol. It already had Trojan condoms, Arrid deodorant and Answer Now. Leo Burnett has added Atasol analgesic to its list of products. It already creates advertising for Rub A535, First Response pregnancy test, and Pearl Drops toothpaste and tooth polish. Allard Pharma Communications of Montreal was the incumbent on Diovol, Gravol and Ovol.
