DISTRIBUTOR MAY NEED AGENCY

D&V Telecomm Solutions International Inc. of Orangeville, Ont., which began distributing telecommunications products in Canada last November made by Ansatel of Toronto, may look for an agency to help promote them, president Dave Gardhouse told Adnews yesterday. The three products are Tele-corder, Teleprivacy Plus telephone line isolators and Intrusion Alert. Currently, Teleprivacy and Tele-corder are only available through D&V and at Future Shop. They will be in Radio Shack and Home Hardware stores in late August. Intrusion Alert is only available through D&V, but will be in Radio Shack outlets by the end of the summer. D&V will launch a campaign at that time for the products. It will decide by mid-August whether to handle advertising in-house or hire an agency, Gardhouse said. The Tele-corder tapes conversations while you're on the phone. Teleprivacy Plus guarantees that no other phone can be picked up and get on the line. It also ensures that while surfing the Internet or downloading a file, another phone on the line cannot be accidentally picked up, cutting off your modem connection. Intrusion Alert warns you when someone picks up another phone on the same telephone line. It beeps in your ear and a red light on the unit starts to flash.
