Olympus conducts campaign for shockproof cameras

Olympus Imaging America has begun a new Canadian marketing campaign for its Olympus Stylus SW digital cameras. The campaign, developed by Doug Agency of Toronto, consists of television and online advertising. The creative illustrates the waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof nature of the cameras. The campaign uses the tagline, "Start Believing." The 30-second television commercial, shot in the style of a nature documentary about penguins, depicts a group of animated cameras living under Antarctic conditions. The television campaign broke on May 26 on TSN/RDS, CTV, OLN, The Comedy Network, ESPN Classic and NHL Network. The online component consists of a video game that allows the user to play with a camera under various harsh conditions. "These cameras are very unique in what they can do and we had to find a fun and engaging way to capture the amazing capabilities of these cameras," said Doug Robinson, chairman of the agency.
