Samsung installs 50-foot sculpture at Toronto airport

Samsung Electronics Canada of Mississauga has installed an out-of-home advertisement at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The installation takes the form of a 50-foot-high sculpture of a hand holding a Samsung cellular telephone. The is the 22nd airport at which the company has installed such a structure as part of its international "World in Your Hand" campaign. The first was placed at Charles De Gaulle International Airport in Paris in 2002. The company plans to continue this initiative at 35 additional airports over the next several years. The Toronto sculpture, installed by agreement with Clear Channel Outdoor, will remain in place for five years. "These impressive sculptures symbolize Samsung's role as an innovator in the wireless market and our goal to bring people together through communication," said Benjamin Lee, president of Samsung Canada. "Specifically in the Canadian market, this sculpture represents Samsung's strong brand presence and our excitement to be a partner for the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics."
