Scotiabank begins Stanley Cup contest
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Scotiabank has begun a hockey-related contest called "Build Stanley." To enter, Canadians must construct a replica of the Stanley Cup from household materials. Participants must submit a photograph and description of their effort through the website <http://www.scotiahockey.com>. A group of finalists will be determined by public voting, then two winners will be selected by a judging panel of hockey players. The submissions will be judged on the basis of quality, originality, imagination and artistic merit. The winners will receive trips for four to a Stanley Cup game. The contest will run until April 27. "Get out your duct tape, soup cans, car parts or pasta noodles," said John Doig, senior vice-president of marketing at Scotiabank. "We know that Canadians love this game and look forward to seeing the creativity they apply to honouring the Stanley Cup. Our customers and employees are hockey moms and dads, coaches, players and fans. This contest is our way of giving Canadians one more way to have some fun and be involved in this great sport."
