Global News Toronto campaign begins

Global Television has begun a local image campaign for Global News Toronto described by the company as its largest ever for that program. The campaign introduces a new tagline: "Your family, your city, your news." It consists of 30-second TV commercials depicting viewers in common situations such as shopping, dressing their children and planning their weekend. Other elements include print ads in the Toronto Star and GTA community newspapers, as well as radio, transit shelter, out-of-home and online advertising. "Our diversified image campaign reflects how our audiences utilize the news we cover and make them relevant to their families," said Jamie Schouela, vice-president of marketing strategy at Global. "Our long-term brand position showcases how the News Hour makes sense of important issues, arming our viewers and their families with useful information that will help in their daily lives." The campaign was developed in-house.
