Canwest rebrands itself

CanWest Global Communications has rebranded itself as Canwest. According to the company, the shortened name is intended to "affirm a common purpose amongst its properties and reflect the company's vision for the future." The company also unveiled a new logo, which makes use of a honeycomb design in green, blue and white. The shape is intended to represent various brands and business units fitting together into a stronger whole. "Our new brand and logo are designed to illustrate that Canwest is many parts which are different and distinct, but that by working together we leverage the power of the group to produce even better content, promote it more effectively and provide highly innovative and integrated solutions to our clients," said Leonard Asper, president and CEO of Canwest. "Our portfolio of assets, which extend across publishing, broadcasting, out of home and new media, provide advertisers with the opportunity to reach more consumers across a variety of platforms." The rebranding work was done by StudioOutsource of Toronto.
