PUROLATOR TO USE VARIOUS AGENCIES
By Adnews Staff
Mississauga, Ont.-based Purolator Courier has decided to use agencies on a project basis instead of using just one agency, marketing director Doug Appleby told Adnews this week. In January Purolator combined its sales and marketing departments and said it was going to change its advertising strategy from highlighting its products to focusing on customer service. Bensimon/Byrne of Toronto was hired at that time to handle the company's advertising on an interim basis. The agency will continue to do work on a project basis. Before Bensimon was hired the account was with Lowe/SMS of Toronto. The marketing changes at Purolator were made after marketing vice-president Carole Salomon left the company last October. Her job was taken over by Maurice Levy, who is also new ventures and sales vice-president. Media buying for Purolator is done by Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell of Toronto.
