Kraft Canada to resume Hockeyville promotion

Kraft Canada is preparing to resume its "Kraft Hockeyville" contest promotion for a third year. The promotion will be conducted in association with the CBC, the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association. During the initiative, which will begin on Dec. 1, communities will be invited to submit testimonials making their case to be Canada's greatest hockey community. The winning community will host a 2008/09 NHL pre-season game at its local arena. The grand prize also includes $100,000 to spend on arena upgrades. Communities can enter the contest online at <http://www.cbcsports.ca/hockeyville> until Jan. 5, 2008. The top ten entries will be revealed on CBC Television on Feb. 17. Viewers will then vote online or by telephone for five finalists. The winner will be announced on Hockey Night in Canada on April 5."Kraft Canada wanted to make this uniquely Canadian event as accessible as possible while providing greater incentive," said Dino Bianco, president of Kraft Canada.  "Canadians are incredibly passionate about hockey. We want to give everyone a chance to prove that.  We expect this year's contest to be the fiercest yet."
