Canada Council for the Arts hires Scott Thornley

The Canada Council for the Arts has retained Toronto-based Scott Thornley & Company to create new branding imagery and a campaign for its 50th anniversary. The council provides support to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations in order to help create a Canadian arts community. The council’s anniversary program will include special events and a new website, along with advertising and imagery that will be used by other Canadian arts organizations in their own programs. “We chose STC on the basis of their experience and their passion for the arts,” said Carol Bream, director of public affairs, research and communications at the council. “The use of images of young professional artists shows how the legacy of the past 50 years of support has transformed opportunities for young Canadian artists, who are making their mark around the world.”
