SilverBirch buys Jambo Mobile Solutions

Mobile entertainment company SilverBirch has acquired Jambo Mobile Solutions, a mobile marketing services provider. Both companies are based in Toronto. Jambo specializes in delivering advertising messages to the cell phones of consumers. Its customers include Adidas, Coca-Cola, Dell, Disney, Pfizer and Sony. SilverBirch develops games, ringtones, images and other content for mobile phones based on original and licensed properties. “This combination gives us a range of proprietary technical capabilities that will be attractive to consumer product marketers seeking to leverage the fast-growing popularity of mobile content and text messaging,” said SilverBirch CEO Derek van der Plaat. Jambo co-founders Derek Colfer and Matthew Kim will join SilverBirch.
