Metro, Penguin Books begins book club promotion

Publisher Penguin Books and commuter newspaper company Metro Canada began a joint promotion yesterday called “Escape with a Great Book.” During the initiative, the Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver editions of Metro will carry excerpts of various Penguin titles every two weeks. The promotion also includes an online component at <http://www.metronews.ca> that features several books and a discussion area. Visitors to the site can also win books by entering a monthly contest. “Our partnership with Penguin Books is a great extension of the Metro brand and a real service to our readers,” said Metro Canada publisher Bill McDonald.
