Canada Post to continue funding Publications Assistance Program

The Government of Canada has issued a directive to Canada Post instructing the corporation to continue funding the Publications Assistance Program for up to two more years. The program offsets the mailing costs of Canadian content magazines and non-daily newspapers mailed within Canada to ensure that subscription costs are the same everywhere in the country. “I expect that the corporation will continue to provide funding in support of the Publications Assistance Program while Canadian Heritage determines the best way to support the Canadian publishing industry in the years to come,” said Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.
