Website roundup

Toronto-based Corus Entertainment has created a new online radio station aimed at young people between the ages of 12 and 17. The site, called BoomBoxBaby.ca, will play a mix of pop, rock and hip hop. The hosts will be teens and young adults. Additional content will come from Corus properties YTV, Kids Can Press and Corus Radio. The site will be supported by banner ads, audio ads and sponsorships. “For this initiative, we are able to leverage Corus’ expertise in branded, youth-targeted entertainment and radio programming and mix and match these assets with new technologies to produce a unique broadcast experience for younger audiences,” said John Hayes, president of Corus Radio. “As youth audiences’ enthusiasm for accessing music and content on multiple platforms continues to grow, BoomBoxBaby.ca reflects our commitment to be everywhere our audiences are.” The site is being promoted with links from the websites of YTV, CMT and W Network. Corus also plans to offer the site’s programming as a channel on its Max Trax digital music service.
