Porter Airlines introduces spokescharacter in teaser campaign
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Porter Airlines began the first stage of a staggered advertising campaign yesterday by unveiling a brand spokescharacter called Mr. Porter. The character, a stylized cartoon raccoon, will be the central device of the regional airline’s launch campaign, developed by Winkreative of London, UK. The character will be introduced in a set of five teaser ads that will run prior to Porter Airlines’ launch this fall. According to the agency, the raccoon was chosen for its visual appeal and for the animal’s reputation as a “smart and cheeky creature.” The character will also be used on the airline’s promotional and on-board items such as meal boxes, water bottles, t-shirts, luggage tags and signage. “Mr. Porter reinforces the warmth and sophistication on which we've built the Porter travel experience,” said Robert Deluce, president of Porter Airlines. The regional airline will launch this fall.
