Montreal-based Yellow Pages Group has made public a beta version of a new YellowPages.ca website that allows users to perform directory searches using keywords based on products, brand names, regions or landmarks. According to the company, the new site is an effort to move away from a directory listings format and toward a service that can provide a user with accurate search results even if the user is unsure of what keyword to use. The new site, located at <http://beta.yellowpages.ca>, also makes use of a less cluttered interface. The company will use public feedback from the beta site to incorporate new features into the final version. “Thanks to this fresh and rewarding technology, the Yellow Pages brand is evolving into the future for new audiences and in new ways,” said Marc Tellier, president and CEO of Yellow Pages Group. “With technology that integrates data from Yellow Pages directories and provides sophisticated keyword search functionality, we have developed a local search platform that is unparalleled in Canada,”
