Transcontinental to bring More to Canada

Transcontinental has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with US publisher Meredith to publish and print a Canadian version of More magazine. The publication, which will be launched in the spring of 2007, will be aimed at women over the age of 40. The lifestyle magazine will carry features on health, beauty, fashion, food, finance, national affairs, the arts and travel. “More fills an underserved niche in both the Canadian marketplace and Transcontinental's suite of women's magazines,” said Francine Tremblay, senior vice-president of consumer publications at Transcontinental Media. “This addition will allow our advertisers to follow consumers from Elle Girl to Elle Canada, then to Canadian Living and Homemakers, through to More and Good Times.” Dianne Rinehart has been appointed editor-in-chief of the magazine. Rinehart was editor-in-chief of Homemakers magazine from 1999 to 2003. Most recently she has been a freelance political columnist and instructor at the Ryerson University School of Journalism.
