NESTLE TESTS ICED COFFEE IN B.C.

U.S.-based Nestlé Beverage began testing its Nescafé ready-to-drink iced coffee in B.C. late last month. The drink comes in four flavors: Dreamy French Vanilla, Mocha With Meaning, Stimulating Joe and Captivating Café Au Lait. Sampling and outdoor advertising for the product will begin in early June, handled by MacLaren McCann of Toronto. Optimedia of Toronto is doing the media buy. If the iced coffee does well in B.C. it will be rolled out to the rest of Canada, Nestlé Beverage vice-president Terri Tinella told Adnews yesterday. No timetable has been set for the national rollout. In the U.S, Nestlé recently launched its iced coffee in seven large cities after a market test in Burlington, Vermont. TV and radio advertising is airing, and sampling is being done in stores. McCann-Erickson Worldwide's Los Angeles office is the ad agency.
