BIWAY, FAIRWEATHER GET NEW CHIEFS
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Dylex Ltd. has named a new president for its BiWay discount chain. The company has hired Richard Blickstead, who was most recently general merchandise and marketing vice-president for Wal-Mart Canada. Blickstead replaces Arthur Smith, who announced his resignation just hours before Blickstead was named president. In addition, Dylex has named a new president for its Fairweather chain, which has been without a boss since Lynn Posluns resigned in February. The new head is U.S. executive Steven Somers, formerly president of the U.S. division of Oroton International Ltd., an Australian company that makes and sells women's accessories. He has also worked at Liz Claiborne of New York and Federated Department Stores.
