Counsel Public Relations opens in Toronto

A new agency called Counsel Public Relations opened in Toronto yesterday. The company is a joint venture of Counsel Public Affairs and Special Situations. The former firm offers public affairs and government relations services, while the latter specializes in communications counsel with regard to mergers, restructurings and other corporate activities. The new agency will offer its clients access to these services, along with communication planning, media relations, communication skills training, product placement and event management. The lead principals of the company are Michael Forbes and Dorenda McNeil. "Counsel Public Relations and its joint venture partners provide clients with increased flexibility, transparency, and a one-stop resource for a range of skills," said Paul Curley, chairman of the agency. "If clients determine they need resources that supplement our public relations services, they will have seamless access to the unique capabilities offered by Counsel Public Affairs and Special Situations."
