CanWest MediaWorks of Toronto has launched a new automotive website called Driving.ca. The site is intended to allow Canadian consumers, car dealers and advertisers to research, buy and sell cars online. According to the company, this is the first time in Canada that a national online portal and a national newspaper network have been combined to help car buyers and dealers find each other. The site will carry reviews and editorial content from 11 CanWest newspapers, along with comparison tools for shoppers and a system for requesting price quotes from local dealers. Dealers will be able to post digital versions of their print ads on the site and create 30-second video ads. Driving.ca is part of the Canada.com group of websites.
