Wal-Mart prepares new George campaign
By Adnews Staff
Wal-Mart Canada of Mississauga will release a new print and television campaign this month for its fall line of George clothing for women. The campaign will begin with a national 30-second television commercial called "Walk By" which will run through the month. Print and magazine ads in fashion and family-oriented publications will run in November and December. The creative shows a young woman wearing George clothing walking through the streets of a Canadian city. As she walks, visual cues from the city of London appear around her, such as a double-decker bus and an entrance to the Underground. The campaign was developed by the retailer's English Canada agency, Publicis of Toronto. "Fashion changes, there are trends, and the UK is a trendsetter. With this campaign we wanted to tap into that," said Duncan Bruce, executive creative director at Publicis Canada. "The George line is fun, affordable, great looking stuff that Canadians love. The creative reflects all those things."
