Thomas Cook hires Grey Worldwide

Grey Worldwide of Toronto has been retained by travel company Thomas Cook/Marlin Travel. The agency is currently conducting a 13-week promotion for the company using the tagline "Thomas Cook & Marlin Travel - Creators of Trip Envy since 1841." The bilingual program includes newspaper ads, point-of-sale materials such as posters, postcards and stickers, and a redesigned website at Thomascook.ca. The initiative also includes an online contest called the "Ultimate Paid Vacation" which will give away 16 travel prizes worth $3,500 each and a grand prize worth $25,000. The aim of the campaign is to illustrate the company's expertise and history in the travel industry as a reliable way to book an enjoyable vacation. According to Rick Kemp, executive creative director at Grey, this campaign "has the power to carve out a unique and distinctive territory in a very cluttered category. Only Thomas Cook has the knowledge and experience to provide a vacation experience that everyone will be jealous of. And it is based in a real human truth that people love to brag about their holidays."
