LEVER RAISING MONEY FOR KIDS

Lever Pond's of Toronto launched its Lever 2000 Foundation For Families this week to help children of underprivileged families participate in sports. The company is hoping to raise $50,000 at various events throughout the year. Funds raised will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Lever Pond's. The money will go to organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. To launch the foundation, Lever is sponsoring the 13-city Skate The Nation event, a skating tour beginning in May starring top skaters such as Kurt Browning, Brian Orser, Christine Hough, Doug Ladret and Jennifer Robinson. The foundation will receive a portion of the proceeds from the event. In addition, boxes will be set up at each show so attendees can donate used sporting equipment to needy kids. MacPhee Jesson of Toronto is running a public relations campaign for the equipment collection. The Skate The Nation tour is being organized by International Management Group of Toronto. Print and radio advertising supporting the event in each city was created in-house by IMG.
