PRINTER OFFERS ELECTRONIC GLOBAL SERVICE
By Adnews Staff
Crain-Drummond launched a 10-city operation this month that the Canadian printing firm says will make it easier and cheaper for companies to send out catalogues, bills and other business forms. The new service, called Impressions, is designed for both large and small companies. Their documents are set up on a computer at the local Crain-Drummond location in Toronto, any of eight U.S. cities, or in Luxembourg. Then the materials are sent electronically from the place of origin to the Crain-Drummond plant in the destination city. The documents can then be printed locally and delivered in paper form. Crain-Drummond says this method is more convenient and cost-effective than having forms printed in home locations and distributed physically to distant destinations. Crain-Drummond will begin promoting the service next month with brochures and trade show promotions. The brochures were created by HLB Communications of Chicago. Crain-Drummond, based in based in Boucherville, Que., belongs to UARCO of Barrington, Illinois, which has invested $40 million(US) in Impressions.
