Mijo debuts web-based commercial distribution service
By Adnews Staff
Mijo of Toronto has launched a new service called Mijonet that offers web-based distribution of television commercials. The service will create broadcast-quality digitized version of commercials from video masters, then transport them to participating stations through a private Internet-based network. Playback units at the receiving end of the link will add the commercials to the broadcasters' on-air systems. Broadcasters can also use the website <http://www.mijonet.com> to view low-resolution copies of the ads that have been delivered to their location and the schedule of incoming ads. The service also includes various functions aimed at ad agencies for viewing creative, placing orders and tracking their status. "We provide access an expansive network of broadcast and specialty television stations across Canada," said Mijo president John Reitman, "Together with the ability to distribute spots nationally in as little as two hours."
