AD SHOP HIRED TO PUT LIFE IN EXTERMINATOR

Olynyk, King & Duda Marketing, Communications of Hamilton, Ont. is launching a national consumer ad campaign in late spring or early fall for Abell Pest Control of Toronto. A trade campaign was launched earlier this month. Olynk, King & Duda won the $1-million Abell account earlier this year without a review. Abell marketing and sales vice-president David Smith told Adnews yesterday that the agency was hired on the strength of work it had done for two other Hamilton-based clients, the Zeneca chemical supply company and the Phillips Environmental waste disposal firm. This is the first time Abell has used an agency. Previously it handled advertising in-house with the help of a graphic designer. "We were looking for a fresh approach and we wanted to revitalize the company," said Smith. The media plan for the consumer campaign has not yet been developed.
